Business Basics: Don't Be Afraid to Spend

You don't want to waste your money on unneccessary expenses when starting a business, of course. No, that vacation is not neccessary and no, you don't need a new TV to improve your business (nice try).

Still, there are sometimes when you shouldn't be afraid to spend! If you're making a product, you better be putting something good out there. This means you need the highest quality parts to make your product. You don't want to cut corners by using something that's low quality because low quality means unhappy customers and unhappy customers means that you're going to be proccessing a lot of returns and you're probably going to get a bad reputation.

If you're having trouble deciding whether or not you should spend big money on something, just remember: If it's a key part of your product or company, don't be afraid to spend. You want to put out the best you can so that people will like, trust and respect your company and products! Don't skimp when it's something important and keep in mind that it's better to make a $5 profit on a good product than a $10 profit on a lousy product that's going to get you a bad reputation!
