Plenty of young people I know are trying to invest their money and basically "win big" as a way to get rich quick without actually doing anything or having to work for it. I always tell these people that they should invest their money in their education instead because it's much more likely to pay off!
My friend is the best example of this. He put his money into the best mba program he could find and worked his way through school to earn his degree. He graduated only a year ago and is already employed at a local firm in a managing position. He tells me he loves his job but I think the thing he loves the most is the salary and the status! He's more than well off and a lot of people in his community respect him. He has his business degree to thank for a majority of the good things he has in his life now like money, respect and connections.
Anyone, young or old, who would like to be in a similar position should forget about betting on iffy investments - Just invest in your education and you can be on your way to a high-paying job that will make your friends and family proud!
