A lot of truckers come through the town I live in and I've met quite a few of them! I love to talk about how they feel about driving for a living and the popular opinion of trucking seems to be extremely positive. Most of them just love the ability to travel all the time while a few have mentioned the great benefits that come with their jobs. With many great CDL Driving Jobs popping up, I thought I would give a summary of why the truckers I know love what they do so much!
The Money
Truck driving is actually a pretty well-paying job, in my experience. All of the truck drivers I know are well off and while many of my friends complain of problems paying bills, these truckers I talk to have just about everything they want! I know some of them even put thousands of dollars back in to tricking out their trucks (I'm serious, they have custom paint jobs and hood ornaments!).
The Benefits
I suppose one reason they have extra money to spend is that most of their employers provide them with quality insurance. They don't have to worry about making that payment every month or trying to sort through different companies and plans - It's all done for them!
The People They Meet
The truck drivers I meet are always so friendly and they're never lacking in things to do or places to go! When you're driving from state to state, you're bound to meet new people. I almost feel lame around my truck driving friends - They're more popular than I am!
You're Getting Paid... To Sit on Your Butt and TRAVEL!
The most obvious reason to be a trucker is the fact that it's easy, simple and adventurous. You're simply driving around the country, making and receiving deliviries, sight seeing as you go and getting paid along the way. I don't know anyone who would pass up an opportunity like that!
Being a truck driver has many benefits and I almost never meet an unhappy trucker! They're always doing something, going somewhere and buying whatever they want. If you're looking for a job, consider a trucking job. You never know where you'll go or who you'll meet.
