Funny Sign Stories!

Signs are an important part of our everyday life. When we're driving, they give us directions. When we're walking through town, they tell us what everything is around us (a shop, a restaraunt). They're also a big part of advertising and introducing us to new products and brands (billboards, picket signs, Real Estate Signs). No matter where you go, you'll see them. I have a few funny stories of signs went wrong!

The first incident was my own fault. Driving around Tampa (or any city, I'm sure) is like trying to make it through a maze. There are signs everywhere, telling you where to go and where not to go. Unfortunately, I once missed a one way sign. I turned down a short road to get to the next street over and surprise! I was simultaneously struck with the vision of a "One Way, Turn Around!" sign as well as a bus coming toward me! It was pretty scary but luckily, the road was wide and I was able to make a quick U-turn before the bus got to me. I've learned my lesson to read signs more closely.

Another funny sign story I have is when I came to a stop sign and saw a sticker that said "Eating Animals". Of course vandalism isn't a positive thing but I have to admit, it caught me off guard and I had a little laugh. I've seen various other stop sign stickers and writing such as "STOP - Hammertime!". Again, I couldn't help but laugh!

I've also had a number of embarrassing incidents of walking into the wrong store based on my reading of the sign. I once saw a sign outside a store that said "Special on Trout!" I can be kind of ditzy sometimes so when I walked into a store full of shoes, I asked them where the Trout was. When they lead me to a display of shoes with "TROUT" labels on them, I must have had the dumbest look on my face! All I could do was awkwardly say thanks and then walk straight out!

Though I seem to be a clumsy sign reader, they are a very important part of our lives. They influence our decisions on a day to day basis. Did you ever notice how many signs you view each day? I'm sure there are too many too count! No matter what, keep your eye out and pay attention to the signs you read so you don't have so many incidents like I have!

This is a sponsored post however, all the points and views are my own.
