My solar powered iPhone Charger has been helpful to me many times in many places. The most significant time was when my friend and I got lost in the woods while camping!
There are no real campgrounds close to where we live. When people want to go camping, they just find someplace nearby like in the woods, around creeks, etc. because our town is full of natural camping spots! Having never been camping before, I talked a friend of mine into going with me. We decided to travel into the woods behind my house and find a nice spot there.
The night before, I was so excited about our trip that I forgot to charge my iPhone. The next day, I tossed my solar iPhone charger into our bag along with food, water, matches and more. In the back of my mind, I figured I wouldn't use my phone much but should pack my charger just in case it ended up being boring!
My friend and I walked deep into the woods, searching for a nice clearing to set up camp. After walking for about an hour, we found the perfect spot. We setup up our tents, started a fire and roasted some hot dogs and marshmallows before heading to bed.
When I got up the next morning, I had a terrible thought. How in the heck were we going to find our way back? Our trip was spur of the moment and we hadn't even thought about that important part. I brought it up to my friend and she freaked out! We both pulled out our phones and just our luck, they were both dead.
We started to panic and then I realized something - I had brought my charger! I pulled it out of my bag and instantly got to charging my phone. As soon as it was done, I called my stepdad for advice. He told me how to get the GPS working on my iPhone so it could lead us out of the woods.
When we got home, it was a huge relief! Had I not remember to pack my charger, we may have been lost in the woods for days! If you're going to a faroff destination that you don't know very well, remember to bring your solar powered charger so you'll have electronics to call for help and find your way!
