Recently, we were having a load of trouble with one of our toilets. One was
working just fine while the other simply wouldn't flush. Now only that,
sometimes it would flood, sometimes it would drain a little and other times, it
just made weird noises at us for no reason. While we like to take care of our
own problems, this one we just couldn't fix on our own. In the end, we had to
call a plumber using the Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Service.
Don't get me wrong, we tried to fix it ourselves at first. On a friend's
suggestion, we headed to the store and bought some liquid pipe cleaner for the
toilet. It was supposed to clear everything out and make the toilet work like
normal again. I poured a hefty squirt of the liquid down the toilet and when I
checked it a few hours later and we still had the same problem. I poured even
more down the drain, thinking that I just hadn't used enough the first time. I
checked it that night and once again, it wasn't working.
Next time, we headed to our local plumbing shop and got a long snake for the
toilet. It was supposed to slide down the bowl and through the pipes to clear
out anything obstructing the waste from flushing down. We tried slipping it in
and moving it all around but when we finally pulled the snake out, we still
couldn't get it to work correctly.
Although we are very self-sufficient and try of solve our problems on our
own, in this case, we had no choice but to call a plumber. When the plumber
arrived, (on time for that matter) he knew our pipes simply needed to be
professionally cleaned out. There was an issue somewhere and the only way to
get it back in working order was to have the system cleaned.
The process of having our system cleaned was a couple hundred bucks. After
it was all said and done, we felt silly for not calling the plumber in the
first place. The system worked way better than it did even before we started having
the flushing problems. Our toilet was back in working order in no time and we
haven't had an issue since. It was definitely worth letting the professionals
take care of it.
This is a sponsored post however, all the points and views are my own.
