One of my good friends has recently enrolled in Business School. I am very proud of him because I believe it will greatly effect his life in a positive way. He has always wanted to be a business man but noone has ever taken him seriously with no education to back him up.
I remember one time he told me about an interview he had that was going really great when the interviewer asked him about his education. He didn't have much to say as he didn't do very well in high school and he hadn't had any further education since then. Immediately after his answer, the interviewer ended the interview! If that wasn't a sign that he needed more education, I don't what could be.
My friend hasn't been enrolled in business school that long but it's already helped him in a lot of ways and their will be more great things to come. For all of you out there considering business school, think about the good things that can come from it....
Employers will take you seriously.
Employers are looking for the best possible employees and you may be the best but without an education, it's really hard to show that! My friend has a lot of knowledge about the business world but because he had no education, employers didn't want to hire them. With an education, you will have something to backup what you say about your skills and it will definitely improve the look of your resume.
You will feel better about yourself!
I know so many people that get embarrassed when anyone brings up education or college. Some people didn't finish high school, some didn't go on to college and they're usually dissapointed in themselves. I always let them know that it's not too late! If you wish you had gone to school but couldn't/didn't, you still can! It's never too late to get an education and once you have, you can show it off to everyone and feel better about yourself because of what you have accomplished.
Better job opportunities
With your completion of business school, you may get better job opportunities with higher pay! This goes hand in hand with employers taking you seriously.... Without a business degree, you may be able to get a job at a small company with low wages, mediocre benefits and no chances of moving up. With a business degree, you can broaden your horizons and go out for the jobs at big companies with higher salaries, great benefits and company pool parties. If you don't get that degree, you may never step inside one of these companies...
With so much competition these days, you need something that will stand out on your resume and in interviews. A degree may do just that - It will show that you're smart, responsible and a hard worker. That's the perfect impression to give so get started on your education today!
