Our Neighbor's Stinky Plumbing Problem!

One day, when we were walking up the driveway to our house, the neighbor called us over. He said he wanted to know if we had ever had a problem like the one he had. My stepdad's a handyman, so it made sense that he wanted his opinion! Apparently, there was something funky with his plumbing. We suggested he call Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Service and he said he would right after we looked into it!

We walked through his house and back to the master bathroom. When we walked through the door, I was immediately hit with an awful smell. It was like rotted lettuce, moldy cheese and dead skunk! I didn't say anything about it as I wanted to avoid being rude.

Just then, our neighbor said "Smell that? Now what can that be?" I realized that was his problem! My step-dad said "Well, Rick, it smells like a dead mouse to me!" He told us that he thought the same thing and had searched and searched for it but never found anything. The only thing he could tell was that the smell seemed to be coming from the sink drain. We took turns dipping our heads in and sure enough, that was it! We figured it was some wild plumbing issue, so we phoned him a plumber at once.

When the plumber got there, he got started dissecting the maze of pipes under the sink. We were all interested to know what the problem was, so we stayed and watched. At one point, he poked his head out and said "Found your problem... There's a mouse stuck in your pipes."

I freaked, letting out a girly "Ewwwwwwww!" I had never heard of something so gross. He told us that it had probably snuck in from under the house or had wiggled down the drain when the drain stopper was pulled out. More surprisingly, he let us know it wasn't the first one he's caught!

The plumber took care of everything. He did the dirty (and extremely disgusting) work of pulling the rat out from the drain. He then cleaned out the pipes to get rid of the smell. It was amazing how quickly and easily he found the problem and fixed it. Without him, our poor neighbor's house would have smelled like dead animal for months!

This is a sponsored post however, all the points and views are my own.
